Transport Options

Introduction

Cognoscenti Guides creates bespoke guiding itineraries for their clients and, depending on the itinerary of any specific client, will tailor the transport arrangements to the client’s specifications.

Many of our clients specifically request certain types of transport modes often depending on either the constituent members of their group, or a specific desire to experience a typical London double decker bus or black cab, or a requirement for ultimate luxury and convenience by means of a chauffeur driven car that allows them to combine a London overview with Out of London à la carte visits.

Whatever the client’s preferred choice of transport, Cognoscenti Guides can arrange all of the relevant details so that they are collected and delivered back to their preferred location at both the start and completion of the guided tour.

Walking and Public Transport

For many of central London’s key visitor attractions, the most convenient transport mode is walking as many of the sites are within a very confined area. Walking is conducted at the client’s pace and is arranged to provide several strategic comfort breaks so as to make the experience enjoyable and without issue.

Where particular sites are outside of walk parameters, these can be reached using either a:

• London black cab, hailed in the street (typically seats 5); or
• London red bus; or
• underground train; or
• Thames river boat.

Private Luxury Chauffeured Car

Often clients express a very strong preference to have a private luxury chauffeured car to transport them directly to their specific itinerary points, where they are collected from their London base and delivered back to the same base at the end of the day.

Cognoscenti Guides’ preferred vehicle of choice is a long wheel based BMW 7 Series or a Mercedes Benz which provides passenger comfort with extended leg room, air conditioning and on board refreshment. We can also provide people carriers if required. Our drivers are trained to police standards of driving, are security conscious and have an encyclopaedic knowledge of London streets which assists in moving quickly through the City.

By using this service, clients are taken to exactly where they need to be positioned and are collected on cue by means of our guides coordinating by mobile phones with our drivers to ensure pick up at pre-arranged places at very short notice. This saves significant amounts of time, avoids delays and ensures the logistics of an itinerary are met.
